Taijitu is a term which refers to a Chinese symbol for the concept of yin and yang. It is the universal symbol of the religion known as Taoism and is also often used by non-Taoists to represent the concept of opposites existing in harmony.
The Yin Yang philosophy signifies the one is the all the all is the one. It justifies good and evil.
Yin Yang is the concept of duality forming a whole. We encounter examples of Yin and Yang every day. As examples: night (Yin) and day (Yang), female (Yin) and male (Yang).
The symbol for Yin Yang is called the Taijitu.
The Taijitu symbol has been found in more than one culture and over the years has come to represent Taoism.
Yin Yang is a dance of opposites. It's all about how to integrate, find coherence, and balance of what we call the opposite oppositions. It literally means "the great opposite stretch".
Primordial consciousness in motion, also known as chi, is a presence behind all manifesting phenomena. When it morphs into form the universe is born. It is a polarity, and whenever you have a polarity, arises Yin Yang. These two dance around each other in a cyclic motion. It effects every stratum of existence – cause and effect – ebb and flow; you're dipping and rising constantly through your life. When things reach their zenith, it's when they're going to tip into their opposite.
There are big cycles and little cycles and all of this is operated by Yin Yang. You have your soft side, you have your hard side. You have your altruistic caring side and you have your ruthless side. Neither is good or bad. They just are. You can't have one without the other. If somebody is looking glorious and bright you can be sure that behind that is the opposite. Nothing is fixed, everything is relative. That cosmology gave rise to a set of principles and a philosophy – that you have a true nature, and the art is to come back into your true nature (#SotA). If you do that things will work out beautifully for you.
You'll go through the ups and downs but you won't be effected by it because you're not personally involved in it so to speak. You're like the background presence inside observing yourself going through the theater of your life. And if you can learn to come into your true nature, you life will be magical and beautiful. And they call this Wu Wei – which means the path of least resistance (#SotA). The path of manifesting what you need just by intending it. Rather than contriving it or struggling or striving or pushing other people out of the way to get it.
The spiritual intellectual part is above you (funneled from sky – sky chi). Your chest area is your emotional, human part of you (people, family, colleagues – humanity chi). And your stomach area is your human earthly part of you (pumped up from Earth ground – earth chi). And you integrate all 3 and you become human. It's about the philosophy you practice that changes you.
Yin and Yang are both part of the one Tao.
Good cannot exist without bad.
Light cannot exist without darkness.
Left makes no sense without right.
Yin and Yang struggle to control one another and at the same time nurture each other.
They help to define each other and therefore cannot exist without the other.
When the forces of yin and yang are in balance we experience health and prosperity – life flourishes.
When yin and yang are imbalanced there is confusion and anxiety – life ends.
The natural tendency of energy is to disperse. Unless prevented from doing so, energy will always move from being concentrated and localized to more spread out. This is a proven and undeniable law of the universe and applies to every living system, including us. We begin our lives with a certain amount of energy. Over time our cells begin to age and eventually we die.
ALL IS VALID: You're the only one in your reality; the only one... The only way you can experience consensus is by agreeing to, with everyone. And that is how the matrix takes away power of individuality. It is your Universe. No on else can tell you that. It is really truly your universe. But you agree to create the appearance of sharing a universe with other beings, a multiverse, but it has to be done by agreement. So if you no longer choose to agree with those ideas that are offered to you by other beings in other universes that don't work for you, then it won't matter what anyone else suggests; you will know whether or not it works. You can thank them for their advice and perspective. And at the same time, you can say this works for me, this does not work for me. End of story — and it is as simple as that. NO ONE ELSE IS LIVING YOUR LIFE. You are unique, and you get to say what works for you. And consensus reality is your creation anyway... So stop arguing with yourself.
Through the individuation process, the personal unconscious and the collective unconscious are brought to conscious awareness. This process leads one to reduce the influence that the collective psychology exerts on most people, and thus it differentiates them compared to others. In a sense, one acquires a more personal and less uniform identity. This new individual identity is a source of vitality and applies healing properties on the mental and physical forms of each person. In this way, one becomes more mature and harmonious, has a greater sense of justice, promotes freedom and other ethical values, and acquires a better understanding about how people, nature and the universe function.
Individuation begins when all aspects of our personality are integrated. Our personality consists of the Persona, that is our mask, our role, or the way we appear in our everyday life, and the Shadow, that is what is hidden or repressed in our inner self, what we are ashamed of and do not wish others to know about. Another aspect of our personality that has to be integrated is the anima, the female part in men, and the animus, the male part in women, which we come in contact with in dreams and fantasies.
The whole process of individuation is not at all easy, especially for the people in the West, whose way of thinking is based on facts and scientific proof. It's difficult for Westerners to accept myths and legends, the rational and the irrational and generally the concept of the opposite, or the concept of the paradox. Jung states that life is not only human, and that there must be a unity with everything that exists in the cosmos, including plants, animals and minerals. When everything is integrated, when the opposites like dark and light, the good and the bad, or the Yin and Yang are accepted, we can feel the sense of Unity with everything in existence, and then our Self is born, just like a baby.
The crisis of modern man is a masculine crisis. The resolution of this crisis is emerging in our own time in a tremendous empowerment and resurgence of the feminine. It's visible not only in feminism itself – in the empowerment of women and the new sense of the importance of feminine values in both men and women – but also in a whole new sensibility of the interconnectedness of all life – the ecological identity, the sense that my self is not me as a human being, but that I am rooted in a whole matrix that includes all of nature, the planet, the cosmos itself. — Richard Tarnas
Your being has two sides – one visible, the other invisible. With open eyes you behold objective creation, and yourself in it. With closed eyes you see nothing, a dark void; yet your consciousness, even when disassociated from form, is still keenly aware and operative. If in deep meditation you penetrate the darkness behind closed eyes, you behold the Light from which all creation emerges. By deeper samadhi, your experience transcends even the manifested Light and enters the All-Blissful Consciousness – beyond all form, yet infinitely more real, tangible, and joyous than any sensory or supersensory perception. — Paramahansa Yogananda
The Tao Te Ching Secrets of Extreme Yin Yang Reversal:
“If you want something to return to the source,
you must first allow it to spread out.
If you want something to weaken,
you must first allow it to become strong.
If you want something to be removed,
you must first allow it to flourish.
If you want to possess something,
you must first give it away.
This is called the subtle understanding
of how things are meant to be.”
